James entered the not-for-profit sector in 2015 as the CFO of Trinity Basin Preparatory, then concurrently served as the CFO of International Leadership of Texas in 2020. His background is in private and public corporations where he held varying roles including CFO, Controller and VP of Finance. A graduate of the University of Chicago (MBA, 1998) and DePaul University (BS, 1993), James is a CPA with over 20 years’ experience and is also a certified Charter School Business Officer and United States Navy veteran. In addition to his CEO duties, James also serves as the Chief Financial Officer of IDEA Public Schools and Trinity Basin Preparatory.
