Amanda Wyatt joins DSS as Chief Consultant, specializing in finance and accounting solutions for clients. Prior to joining DSS, Amanda served as the Chief Financial Officer at High Tech High, where she helped expand the footprint of HTH to 16 schools across four campuses in Southern California. She led functions across accounting, finance, real estate and facilities, child nutrition programs, grant management and development, and HR, talent, and compensation strategy. In her time with HTH, Amanda supported charter renewals across multiple authorizing agencies and completed a refinance of $75M in real estate holdings, ultimately saving schools $1.6M annually for 20 years. Amanda entered the charter school space in Dallas with KIPP Texas Public Schools, overseeing the Finance function for 52 schools across the state of Texas. In her time leading Finance, Amanda helped grow the organization from $8M to $275M in revenue through both organic growth and M&A activity. She has worked extensively on school/CMO partnership and organizational design best practices. She has deep knowledge of both California and Texas public education policy.
Before beginning her work in public education, Amanda worked in both the technology start-up and private sector consulting industries. She began her career at Rockfish Interactive, a start-up digital advertising agency based in Northwest Arkansas. After the company was purchased through an international acquisition, Amanda joined Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting. She focused on performance improvement and organizational change initiatives across companies in the healthcare, oil and gas, and retail industries. She has experience in governmental accounting, financial reporting, business process development, and change management.
She earned a Master of Accountancy and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, where she held the prestigious Boyer Fellowship for business study and was named the Sam M. Walton College of Business Outstanding Graduating Senior.
Amanda enjoys traveling, teaching and practicing yoga, refining her Spanish-language skills, and spending time with her two rescue dogs, Rosie and Lemon.
